Our Safe Saturday Night 3 on 3 Basketball & Mentoring session is a safe haven location for youth who have experienced the pain of violence among their peers and family members. Boys and Girls ages 9-21 are invited to participate – ALL FAMILY MEMBERS are welcome to attend. We provide a safe and enjoyable atmosphere for youth, parents and members of the community.
As victims ourselves, we understand the importance of supporting other parents whose children have been victims of gun violence. We provide various parent support events that help to ease the burden of walking this path alone. We bring comfort to parents with Parent Support Days, i.e. Mother’s Day Event, Father’s Day Event, Spa Days, our Annual Picnic and more!
One of our most notable Parent Support Day was the Mother’s Day Dream Quilt, where we teamed with Mom’s Demand Action for a relaxing afternoon full of precious memories of our dear children.
Family members of victims whose murder cases remain unsolved are given the opportunity to meet with City and State representatives. We often find refuge in the memorial wall featuring photos of our sons and daughters who were murdered. The memorial wall is located at 78th and Racine on St. Sabina’s lawn, and it is a stark reminder of the loss families face every minute of everyday.
To have your loved one’s photo added to the memorial wall, contact: 773-234-8117 or email purposeoverpain@gmail.com
